The Recipe and Sample Workbook consists of sheets of handmade paper with fiber samples, recipe logs and brief information regarding the purpose of the paper... for example: refugee papermaking workshop; order of veteran uniform paper; paper made from underwear to benefit LGBTQ organisations...
The workbook is complete with process images, spreadsheets of budgets and other ephemera related to Drew Matott's workshops, tours, residencies, collaborations and commission orders. It includes printing proofs and artists book mock ups.
Matott creates four to ten overstuffed workbooks a year and archives them in special collection libraries and museums around the world. In this way, he is able to create a physical record of the very transient work that he does.
